Jimmy Carter

James Earl Carter, better known as Jimmy Carter, started his political career as a Senator and later became a Governor of his native Georgia from 1971-1975.  The following year he served as the President of the United States of America up until 1980 when he was defeated by former actor and California Governor Ronald Reagan in a considerable margin. After his presidency, the former POTUS founded his nonprofit organization named Carter Center with his wife, Rosalynn Carter.

The foundation, which focuses on upholding human rights, helped him achieve the Nobel Peace Prize award 20 years after its founding. Despite being the head of state with a total net worth of $10 million, he still lives in a modest house with a value of $167,000. We don’t know about you, but Jimmy Carter putting his investment money into something that’ll benefit several people is very admirable. Hopefully, his advocacy will continue to change lives in the decades to come.
