Wladimir Klitschko

During his career as an amateur boxer, Wladimir Klitschko got the chance to represent Ukraine at the 1966 Olympics’ super-heavyweight division returned from the event with a gold medal. By the time he went pro, he became known amongst fans and peers for being an aggressive fighter. Even so, this reputation eventually changed under the guidance of his coach, Emanuel Steward. Until his last bout in 2017, he has been known for following a more defensive-oriented technique.

Outside the boxing ring, Wladimir also found work in other fields, most notably in education. In fact, he and his brother, fellow boxer Vitali, both have a doctorate in sports science. In 2015, he taught Challenge Management to students studying for their master’s degree at Switzerland’s University of St. Gallen. In more recent news, Wladimir is also set to work as a lecturer at Harvard University.
