Bono

Paul David Hewson, popularly known as Bono, is widely recognized as the frontman and lyricist of the rock band U2, eventually granting him a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Aside from being the band’s singer, Bono is also well-known for his philanthropic efforts. He would perform with the band for concert events that help charitable organizations. Outside of his music career, Bono joined the venture capital firm Elevation Partners, where he made investments in the Forbes Media Group.

In 1992, Bono bought and renovated Dublin’s Clarence Hotel, transforming it from a 70 room hotel to a five-star 49 room hotel. The firm eventually got hold of a portion of Facebook’s shares, initially purchasing it for around $250 million. After leaving Elevation Partners, Bono co-founded the Rise Fund, which aims to support startup businesses. In recent news, they have invested in the company Zipline and their drone delivery services.
