John Christopher Depp II, or Johnny Depp, is one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors. He’s played the legendary Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, after all. Depp may have had one of the most inspiring Cinderella stories that the industry has ever seen, from living in a friend’s car for months to buying acres of land and huge yachts today. The famous pirate actor got his big break when he first got cast in the movie, Nightmare on Elm Street, a movie that came at a time when he was still juggling a music and acting career.

However, the year after that would prove to be one of Depp’s greatest trials, as his band and his marriage fell apart. Johnny would then put his guitar down and take his acting to the next level by attending classes and seminars to improve his technique. After Johnny Depp was given the role of Jack Sparrow in the Caribbean films, the rest is history.
