Richie Sambora & Heather Locklear

Heather Locklear’s nearly 12-year-long relationship with Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora might have ended in 2006, but their friendship has remained intact, with Sambora calling his ex ‘still hot.’ Sambora and Locklear met and married each other in 1994 and had their daughter: Ava, in 1997. In a 1999 magazine article, Locklear said that both she and her husband invested their time towards their daughter, a far cry from their public personas back then.

However, their relationship would not last. In February 2006, Locklear would file papers for her separation from Sambora. A month after that, Sambora filed for joint custody of their child. They finally parted ways in 2007. From then onwards, the couple would face problems of their own. Locklear would be known for many legal and health troubles. As for Ava, the notoriety of her parents, especially her mother, proved to be ‘crushing,’ according to her. Regardless, the family has been on friendly terms, and both of Ava’s parents have been very attentive and caring for her, despite the troubles they faced.  They may have had a rocky family life, but we do give Heather and Richie credit for being devoted parents.
