She holds the record of being the first woman to co-host an American news program and a network evening news program. Barbara has since published two books and amassed a net worth of $170 million.
In 1963, she married her second husband, Lee Guber, a theater owner and a theatrical producer. The pair never had their own biological child, although they tried. Eventually, they decided to adopt, and they adopted a baby girl, who they named Jacqueline Dena Guber, in 1968. According to the journalist, the child is named after her sister Jacqueline and her mother Dena. However, after thirteen years of marriage, Barbara and Lee decided to part ways. The Today host moved on and married real estate developer Merv Adelson, five years since her breakup.
