Due to its lavish grandeur, British model-actress Liz Hurley and Indian businessman Arun Nayar’s wedding was the talk of the town. The couple went to considerable measures to ensure that their wedding was one-of-a-kind. It had everything a fantasy wedding should have, from the English countryside to stately Indian palaces and a spectacular wedding banquet.

Liz and Arun exchanged vows twice, and the event was hosted at Sudeley Castle in England in 2007. In keeping with Nayar’s Hindu custom, the second occasion was in Jodhpur’s Umaid Bhawan Palace. As they shuttled between palaces and a historic hilltop fort around Jodhpur, the couple and their 240 guests were amazed at the degree of spectacle formerly reserved for maharajahs. Following the ceremony, the wedding party proceeded to the city’s massive Mehrangarh Fort, which overlooks the blue-painted city. They dined on Jodhpur’s rich, buttery food, accompanied by traditional Rajasthani singers and flower petals showers.
