The wedding of Delphine Arnault and Alessandro Vallarino Gancia was one of the most expensive weddings in history. The couple doled out around $7 million to hold their nuptials, which certainly made plenty of jaws drop. Fortunately, these two came from wealthy families. Arnault is heiress to the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy empire, while her husband is the heir to a long line of Italian winemakers. Money wasn’t an issue back then as both were willing to spend a lot on their special day.

Their financial adviser may have told them that they will be spending a ton for their nuptials, but the two know where to put their money on. The couple exchanged “I do’s” at the Cathedrale Saint-Jean-Baptiste de Bazas, with the reception held at the Chateau d’Yquem vineyard. It was filled with 5,000 white roses, which transformed the place into an elegant backdrop to the wedding of the year. Sadly, the couple separated in 2010.
