The wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton back in 2011 was perhaps one of the most glamorous and lavish wedding ceremonies in recent memory. To mark the occasion, their big day was declared a national holiday across the United Kingdom. During the big day, events were held across the world and an estimated 5,000 parties were held throughout the United Kingdom. In addition, 1 million people lined up the route between Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace.

Their wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey was witnessed by 1,900 of their guests. After the ceremony, the newlyweds went to Buckingham Palace in a carriage procession. Afterward, they appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace, where they shared an iconic kiss. Just as extravagant as their ceremony was their reception, which boasted a multi-tiered traditional fruitcake. The couple’s big day certainly used a lot of investment money to achieve such a feat.
