Grace Kelly & Prince Rainier III

Perhaps one of the most well-known weddings of the 20th century, the union between legendary actress Grace Kelly and Rainier III, Prince of Monaco is the culmination of a relationship that is straight out of a fairy tale story. Just a year after they met in 1995 during the Cannes Film Festival, they made things official in a highly elaborate wedding ceremony, which pretty much involved the entirety of Monaco and required massive investments to be made. The wedding ceremony has since been branded as the stuff of legends.

While the civil ceremony was quite brief and restrained, the subsequent wedding was much more grandiose. Kelly’s wedding dress, designed by Helen Rose, became quite iconic and has greatly inspired countless wedding dresses over the years. The ceremony was attended by everyone in Monaco, along with 700 guests the couple invited. After the ceremony, a reception was held.
